Victoria Piersig is a Toronto-based fine art photographer who has been traveling aboard Canadian domestic lake freighters examining the hidden world of the movement of primary bulk commodities that we use in our daily lives.
She returned to photography after a thirty-year hiatus during which time she worked in custom fabrication for film, television and display, and in the financial industry.
Recent exhibitions including work from her project Trading Places has been presented at the Saint John Visual Arts Centre NB, Harbourfront Centre, The Office of theLieutenant Governor of Ontario, Guatephoto Guatemala, and the Workers' Arts & Heritage Centre in Hamilton. Her work is in private collections throughout North America.
