Choir! Choir! Choir!
is a Toronto-based singing group led by creative directors Nobu Adilman and Daveed Goldman. The group takes a non-traditional approach: there are no auditions and meet twice a week to learn original choral arrangements of pop songs. Since 2011, they have built a dedicated and passionate community of singers, a thriving international fanbase, performed with Patti Smith, Tegan & Sara, and Damien Rice, and launched a number of successful charity campaigns. Choir! Choir! Choir! exists to celebrate music and push the boundaries between practice and performance, artist and audience, offering therapeutic benefits with the ultimate side effect: a powerful community.
Harrow Fair is Miranda Mulholland (Great Lake Swimmers, Belle Starr) and Andrew Penner (Sunparlour Players); one part stomping songs that echo early country and rock n’ roll, the other gritty ballads that sound sweet and haunted. This duo's evocative and rapidly expanding collection of songs are utterly foreign, oddly familiar and deeply gratifying. Their two track 7" is due out May 6th.
Oh Susanna, or Suzie Ungerleider, is a singer-songwriter living in Toronto. She is the recipient of a Genie Award for Best Original Song and a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Songwriter. Her albums, Short Stories and Oh Susanna were each nominated for Juno Awards. Namedropper earned her a nomination for a 2015 Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Solo Performer.
