Laura is an award-winning painter, recently moved to Maynooth from Toronto. After completing studies at the Ontario College of Art in 1985, Laura worked as an illustrator, a mural painter and a fine artist and has painted professionally for over 30 years. Laura is an elected member of Ontario Society of Artists, and is a recipient of an Ontario Arts Council grant. Her paintings reside in many corporate, private and government collections including the Art Collection of the Government of Ontario.
Laura paints with beeswax; either encaustic (hot wax) or with cold wax mixed with dry pigment and oil paint. She sells her work directly from her home studio Black Spruce Art Works; at various juried art shows, and from galleries throughout Ontario.
Recent awards include Best in Show at the Ontario Society of Artists 139th Open Juried Exhibition, Best in Painting at the 51st Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition and Best in Show at the 36th Annual Peel Gallery Juried Exhibition.
Laura paints full-time in the studio of her cozy home and gallery in Maynooth Ontario. When time allows, she loves to venture away on long motorcycle rides or out canoeing and camping in Algonquin Park.
